new year's acoming

I forget to show a picture of cutie pie Cassia, who's Silas little sister.
She is so adorable and cute.
--
today is the.. 31st of December! Amazing. Tomorrow the digits 2008 will appear in stead of 2007. For people following Malaysian standards, we'll all become one year older. Imagine, I'll be called 14 tomorrow. That's so freaky. And the big 15-year-old bunch will turn into 16-year-olds. And the big 12-year-old bunch (I mean seriously big in GRC) will all be called 13-year-olds. =0

What about goals? Maybe I always try to set them, yet never succeeded in accomplishing them. In this post, I wanna write one goal I accomplished this year, one thing I learned this year, one thing I most enjoyed this year, and one goal I have for next year. Get ready. thinking cap on?

One goal I accomplished this year.
Let's not exactly say I accomplished it. It was rather a lame goal anyway. But then again, every goal is a special goal. Last year, at this workshop we were asked to write a goal for next year. (my mind must of not been functioning very well then) I wrote, "Go to an amusement park with Silas." I didn't exactly accomplish it, but I did get to spend two weeks with him and went a lot of places together. almost an amusement park.

One thing I learned this year
I can write anything crazy in this part like, "I learned how to do base 2 in Math" or something. I mean, if I were to list everything I learned this year that would take billions of space. But what one thing did I learn this year that really impacted me for the better? It's a long story all together but mostly it's all about me coming to GRC at the beginning of this year. All the feelings in me just proved that I did not want to accept the new school. I though Malaysians were down to standard compared to Americans. I learned they are not. A lot of post in my blog talk about it. Example: My life, my changing life and GRCians in GRCland

One thing I most enjoyed this year
If I could pick two, that would be easier. Cause Broga Camp and Youth Rally were the best experiences in my life. But I think I shall have to pick one. I'm gonna pick Broga Camp. Mostly cause of the first night when the electricity went of and all. We really had a blast with the Lord then. Read more: fun and about the Youth Rally: Had a blast?

One goal for next year
This is the part when you really have to think. That is why I picked the number "1" for everything. If it would have been more, I would have written too much. I only wanna try in succeeding in 1 goal next year before I move on to 2.
Okay, here goes. My goal for next year: to compose a song. A song that I expresses my feelings and a song that I can play and sing. Let's see if I can accomplish that.

Maybe next year's goal can be to write HTML and create my own blog template!

Opps, one year at a time. Slow down. Yea, slow time down Lord.

Lastly, take a look at my reflections of 2007 which I wrote 3 months ago: 2007.

good to be back

You guys better say your missed me. Cause I am back!! And I've never felt so happy to be in Malaysia again. Praise God for that.

Now I have fast Internet finally! So here comes the pictures...

What is he doing? I'll tell you.
We were playing with him and then the electricity went off.
We were like, "Silas, we're sweating."
He got up on his bed and started flinging his pillow around.
We asked, "What are you doing?"
He replied, "I'm fanning you so you don't get sweaty."

The room my sis and I shared.

Coke? a different color?
Nope.
It's gasoline. No kidding.

I finally taught him how to pose.

airplanes again

My time in Cambodia is coming to an end. Tomorrow I shall have a very long day. Let's not think about that. I bet I'll get this superb headache while I'm trying to function tomorrow.

Actually, I have mixed feelings about whether I really wanna go home or not. I'm gonna miss my time in Cambodia and Silas and Cassia. cutie pies they both are. I'm really glad to get back home too. Firstly, fast internet, more pictures. Just being back home. Getting back to a daily school life. I can hardly wait!! And a phone? woot.

Yea. So don't try looking for me online tomorrow. I shall arrive in Malaysia really late so don't try calling either. And see you all when school starts. I shall post pictures of Cambodia when I get back. With the fast internet. woops.

Byess for now.

sing along

Even if sometimes I seriously do feel like I'm missing out on all the fun that you Malaysians are having for Christmas, I really do have a good laugh and tons of fun here. Silas is super duper funny. Just a few of the jokes he which made me laugh my head off. He wasn't even intending to make us laugh.

You know the song Father Abraham?

It goes like this:

Father Abraham had many sons
Many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them and so are you
So let's just praise the Lord (etc.)

He sang it like this:

Father Abraham had many sons
Many sons had many Father Abrahams
I am one of them and so are you
So let's just praise the Lord (etc.)

LOL. I was laughing my head off. Like totally.

Okay, that's it for tonight.

Jingle bells in a bus

Just a shout out...

Berry Christmas!

What was Christmas in Cambodia like? An extremely interesting one. What did I do? Sit in a bus ride that lasted for 10 hours. Why? Cause I was in this remote highland Cambodia called takes hours just get we set 22nd of december came back 10 hour bus ride on Christmas other quite an unusual had great fun in and gotta open my presents a day earlier than anyone never ever guess i'll tell you but what about it later. It was suppose to be cold but the sun was as hot as... now. ahahaha. Back to the subject, what did I do??

23rd and 24th of December

Yaklom Lake. It was so beautiful. And the water's temperature was... perfect. It was so fun to swim in. And deep. I mean, don't even ask how deep. I have no idea. I just know that I couldn't touch the floor even if I jumped.

Waterfalls. We visited tons. And each one was so beautiful. One of them we could get behind the waterfall. How cool is that? And we swam in one. The current almost pulled me away. lalala..

Norton House. That was the place we ate lunch in for two days. And wonderful food they served too. Delicious western food which I missed so much! =p Pork chops. Grilled chicken breast. Swedish meatballs. Yum. Yum.

And finally. Opening presents on Christmas eve!! And guess what I got??

a HANDPHONE!! woot. anyways, I don't have a SIM card yet. I will get one when I get back to Malaysia. But, it is a shared phone. pity. Still a phone the same. And I'll tell you guys my number when I know it myself. lalala..

Christmas day was nothing much. Yet it was still Christmas.
--
Lastly, next birthday boy. Yesterday was Jesus, today is Tommy Bommy. So..

Happy Birthday!

Description of this boy. I so agree with Zoe and Paullyn. He can be ultra annoying. Boys in general are. So being annoying is just being a boy. Other than him being annoying, he's just like every other boy. But then, every single boy has a special part in them. Don't ask me what Tommy's special part is cause I really have no idea. lol.
--

P.S. I really can't wait to get back to Malaysia. 3 more days!! woot. And I really miss you all. Especially Paullyn, Sarah, Tommy, Beeps, and Roberts.

why can't little people do big things too?

Whenever my sis and I do something a 3 year old cannot do, Silas always ask, "Why can't I do that?" And the normal reply is, "Only big people can do that."

The point is: Big people do big things. Little people do little things. Wrong!!

Little people can do big things.

Guess how I learned about this? VeggieTales!! I watched it in the afternoon yesterday. And it was so super duper funness. I mean seriously. It was all about God Made You Special and there was this story about Dave and the Big Green Pickle (David and Goliath). And Junior (who was Dave) had to stay back and watch sheep cause he was too small. And then he sang that song. The one that goes, "Why can't little people do big things too?" (P.S. I love that song!)

Then the song that David sings to King Saul:

Junior (Dave): They're big, I'm little
They go, I twiddle
Why can't little guys do big things too?

You're big! I'm little.
My head only comes to your middle
But I say little guys can do big things too!

Archibald (King Saul): Yes, but Goliath, he's ...

Junior: He's big! But God's bigger!
And when I think of Him, that's when I figure
With His help, little guys can do big things too!

Yep. With his help little guys can do big things too!
--
Okie. VeggieTales section over. ahaha.

Back to reality. hmm, yesterday I really wanted to go online. However, I didn't have the chance. Sad... Oh wells, I am on now.

Forth Day (Dec 19)

In the morning we went on another tutuk to a rubber plantation. It was really fun. The driver was really friendly and we stopped at several different places on our way to the plantation. At the plantation itself, there were lots of rubber seeds. I collected tons.

Fifth Day (Yesterday)

Hmm, what did I do yesterday again? Morning: I played and played and played. LOL. I am still a child for your infomation. Afternoon: watched VeggieTales. ehehe. Evening: went biking again. I shall tell you face to face what happen then. Just ask!! lol.

Okie. Enough for today. Byess!! And.. I really miss you guys.

oh dream and hang on

EDIT-pictures added

I shall and will survive Cambodia. Somehow..
Just keep on dreaming and hang on tight...

Third day (Yesterday}

Yea!! Managed to connect the laptop to the Internet and gotta post, as you could see below. Unless you are seriously a blurcase. kid. kid. The whole morning was spent using the comp and playing with Silas. In the afternoon we watched Shrek 2 (don't tell me how old that movie is, I know!) while Silas napped. After that we went for a bike ride along the river. That was really fun. Except, it was a bit of a hassle getting there..

Picture time!! oh fun..

*30 min later*

GOSH!! the crazy and super slow Internet. The pictures are uploaded into the comp, but the Internet is so slow here that I couldn't upload it into blogger. How pathetic and crazy.

I shall try again another time. Right now, I am dying of a headache. oh gracious...

BYEE

**5 hours later**

EDIT
taadaaa!! ehehe. this is a tutuk.. super fun!!

And let's go crazy...
......
.................
..............................

Yea... crazy.
This is beside the river. We went biking there. fun. fun.

and of course, the room we're (Lydia and I) are staying in...

***10 min later***

crazy internet again. I shall try again tomorrow. For now..?
Enjoy the two pictures. lalalala

oh live

Oh gosh!! Do you guys even miss me? I miss you guys like superbly. Especially my bed, house, and just Malaysia itself. I'm being super honest.

Let's bombard with news. Pictures will come later.

Cambodia is such a weird place. The weather is extremely hot. The road is totally chaotic. Chaotic isn't exactly the word. It's worst than chaotic. But the cool thing is that the driver's seat in a car is on the left side! That seriously just so cool. Cause I miss left sided cars.

First day

The flight was delayed for two times. Worst thing is that we took Air Asia and you have to fight for seats. So we were rushing like nuts to get our pass board teared, or whatever you call it. If you guys don't think the boys in GRC are not gentlemen, then I don't know what you would call the ones at the airport. They pushed and shoved. I was too polite to push through. My sis finally yelled, "Hazel, you just have to give it. Else you'll never get in!!"

The airplane ride was quite cool. You could see all the clouds below you. And then when we were about to land. It was super cool going through the clouds. Below I could see Cambodia. It looked like brown tiles everywhere and a few houses and trees in some patches.

We stayed at a hotel for the first night.

Second day

Woke up, and took a tootook to the Bus station. What's a tutuk? It's like this really cool open air carriage attached to a motorcycle. The scary part was that it turned around and we could see all the cars coming towards us. Yea, the roads in Cambodia are so scary. There's no lines to divide the sides, so all the cars go anyway and any side as they wish.

The bus ride was long, hot cramped, and boring. We had a 30 min stop. I mean, gosh, Cambodians can't travel. For their 30 min break they must go shopping. And eat. They eat and eat and eat. Like Chinese. And their language sounds like Chinese and Malay mixed together. The scariest part was seeing them in insects. They were fried and they ate them. =/

Conclusion

We arrived safe and sound in Kampong Cham where our missionary friends are staying. It's really hot and headaches are common for me. Silas (3 and a half) and Cassia (10 months) are super adorable and fun to play with. And everything is just so confusing and different.

I really miss you guys. Wishing to be in Malaysia, and arranging times to go to school. Yea, and Paullyn and I with our crazy blue dresscode? LOL. Robert's hugs? Isaac weirdness? Everything. You guys so rock. And I miss you a lot.

1, 2, 3 and fly...

in about 3 hours...

I shall dance, shout, scream, and fly!!!

Maybe I'll cry too? kid. kid.

The plane shall take off in about 4 hours!!

I'm off to Cambodia!!

Honestly, I am ready yet not ready. As for my material stuff, it's all packed.
As for me, I'm not. I look forward, yet I don't. I wanna go, yet I wanna stay.
But who cares, I'm gonna have fun. yeps, fun here I come. =)

Don't miss me too much humanoids!! I shall see you all alligators next year. (That seems like a century!)

And...

Merry Christmas!!!

without me... =(

the whole world is rejoicing!!!

I have finally had success!! Well, let's just say a lot of us have had success. Cause we have finally convinced Mr. Jonathan Daniel Roberts to get a blog!! woot...

Shabeta's blog was "so called" publicizing it. However, once I write it in my extremely well known and well read blog, the whole world will know in a matter of days. Trust me, I am positive. My site meter tells me that I have an average of 17 visits per day. How cool!!! ahaha..

So to my so fabulous readers, I request you all to check out his blog. And if he doesn't update soon enough for you, then bombard his cbox (like Soph said). Imagine it, Roberts' is gonna have to write in a cbox. Gosh!!! Just imagine. lolz.

One gone, one more to go. Mr. Isaac Thong, here I come...

when I flee

to describe today...?

let's just skip that explanation and say it was quite funn =)

Anyway, I might not be updating the next couple of days. Due to that I'm leaving for Cambodia in 2 days. Weee. Some people are jealous?? If my blog does get kinda boring, my ever faithful secret writer shall update for me. Did you hear that?? ahem...

Let's see.. I expect to have fun in Cambodia. And experience a lot. And miss you... ahaha..

Oh yes, I got my math book back!! woot. I scream for joy. Finally.

And, I'll miss you all nuttsos. Especially all the wonderful people I saw today. Roberts, Shab, Isaac, Shu Way, Tommy, Paullyn, Kelvin, and of course Sarah and Beeps. You guys so rock.

Oh yea, my random name after "chech" for my sis, is now "chorch" for my bro. woot...

it just doesn't make sense

The Bible and the Coal Basket

The story is told of an old man who lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning, Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading from his old worn-out Bible. His grandson who wanted to be just like him tried to imitate him in any way he could.

One day the grandson asked, "Papa, I try to read the Bible just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bible do?" The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and said, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring back a basket of water."

The boy did as he was told, even though all the water leaked out before he could get back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You will have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was "impossible to carry water in a basket," and he went to get a bucket instead. The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You can do this. You're just not trying hard enough,” and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got far at all. The boy scooped the water and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, "See Papa, it's useless!" "So you think it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket." The boy looked at the basket and for the first time he realized that the basket looked different. Instead of a dirty old coal basket, it was clean. "Son, that's what happens when you read the Bible. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, it will change you from the inside out.”

That is the work of God in our lives. To change us from the inside out and to slowly transform us into the image of His son. Take time to read a portion of God's word each day.

Why go to Church?

A church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.

"I've gone for thirty years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

"I've been married for thirty years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this: They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today."

--

This really touched me today. As I was doing my Bible study today I couldn’t understand much. Then I suddenly remembered these stories and I wanted to share them with you. So many times we don’t understand what the Bible is telling us, or what the preacher is preaching to us. Yet, they help us.

Just think about this. Our thought for today is:

God's Love is like the ocean, you can see it's beginning but not it's end.

a gift of influence

Wanna know something? It's really interesting. I mean, like totally. I was marveling on and on about it all day. Did you know that God has given woman a gift of influence? I mean, how cool is that? We can convince and influence others.

However, sometimes we (woman&girls) use this gift wrongly. We influence others to do wrong. That's why even if this gift is so totally cool, we can be destructive and hurting also.

Randomness: I was trying to use this gift this morning. Except, it didn't work. ahaha. kid. kid. Isaac Thong is like stubborn Jonathan Roberts. Nether one want to get a blog. aghhh. I don't know what their problem with blogs is. tsk. tsk. I shall succeed one day.

That's why I respect the boys who do get a blog. Unlike some who are too lazy to type. What nonsense... ehehehe.

today is a weird and boring day. how sad...

dreamer's day...

My favorite saying when I change my template is...

I luv my new template. ahaha.

In fact, I love all my new templates but can never stick to one.
Get used to a ever changing blog.
--
Anyway, today is someone's special day. However, he's spending it in GY camp. I can imagine all the fun. Wish I could go. muahaha. But if I went, I wouldn't have been able to write this post. So be glad that I'm at home with internet. weee...

Back to the point. Even if he'll only read this when he comes back I still should write it on his birthday. At least then he'll know I remembered. ahaha.

So Happy Birthday Roberts.

Let's describe this guy. He's fun, hyper active, can keep you extremely entertained (unlike some people). He's totally hugable. Totally wonderful. Well, wonderful as a brother. Sometimes, he makes mistakes. ahem ahem. But what human doesn't?

That's why we love him. That's why we care to wish you happy birthday. God bless ya!

oh so popular!

If you want your blog to come up in a Google search, all you have to do is type hazelchazelmazel somewhere in your sidebar in your blog. If you didn't know, I am so famous! I searched hazelchazelmazel in Google and 9 pages of results came out. They all refer to my blog, tommy's blog or d' Girlies blog. How cool is that!

When I searched on hazelchazel, Raquel's, Paul Mae's, Tommy's, Emily' and Shab's blog came out cause I guestblogged for them. Exactly. You should let me guestblog for you so that your blog comes out in a Google Search!!

Then, I searched Technorati search and everyone who linked me in their blogs came up! It all equaled up to about 45 blogs. How cool is that? See, I told you I ws famous. Don't you guys feel lucky, having such a famous friend. ahahah.

All that info was just to prove to you that I am ultra popular. At least my nickname is! Yea, I love the name hazelchazel or hazelchazelmazel. Go and try for yourself. Search my name in Google!! weeee....

too cute to be in this world

Yesterday night I went shopping. For baby clothes. How adorable and cute can they get? Even the clothes. Not just the babies. ;D

I found one that said, "too cute to be in this world" It was a pity it was too small. ahaha

I bought myself a really cool shirt too. =D
--
Oh yea. I look forward to seeing baby Cassia and Sila again. Cassia was a baby last time. She's 1 year old now. And Silas? He's probably as cute as usually!!

it's called craziness

How crazy can we get get these days? I mean, super duper crazy. We're all gonna fall sick if we do that again. Anyone want to join us?? ahahaha.

Today the bunch of us went to hang out in school. Okay, it was a bit boring except at the end when our boredom got to worst of us. I think we all had a bit too much energy stored up in us. Had to get it out in the rain, of all places. (=

That why I love you all. When we get to act crazy!! weeee...

It's called boredom that made us want to go to the playground while it was raining. Yea, I abandoned my books and stuff under the shade thingy at the park. Then we all went nutts-os in the rain. This isn't called dancing in the rain it's called swinging in the rain. haha. Swinging competitions again. And guess who won as usual?? okay, I shalln't be perasan but of course the only hazelchazel won!! ehehehe...

Yea, we're the craziest people in the world. Who's idea was it by the way? ahaha. I mean right, Paul Mae got super cold and Mr. Isaac Thong the smart one was tired and then went out in the rain. It means getting sick. ahem ahem.

Oh wells, it was fun when it lasted. Plus, we all like acting like children once in a while.

I'm still a child. Don't forget that. hehe...
--
oh yea, after that (with my hair drenched with rain water) I cut-ted my hair. it doesn't look very different. My sis' one does. Man, it's as short as Paullyn's. ahaha.

Back to Reality...

Take a deep breath and breathe. What a day!! excuse me, don't ask question. ahaha..

Anyway, if I didn't tell you all, I'll be gone during the later half of this month. Off to Cambodia to serve the lame and the sick during Christmas season. Okay, it sounds lame for a Christmas but the ill should also have funn =) Yep, I'm gonna live in the same house as HIV/AIDS invalids. Pray for me ;)

But I'm gonna miss a few birthdays. bummers. So here's a post to wish the December babies Happy Birthday. Just in case I can't access to the Internet in Cambodia. If I can, I'll remember to wish you a wonder-filled birthday. ahaha.

9th. Jon Roberts. My big lovable and hug-able brother. In fact, my only brother. ehehe. My sister refers him as "your brother" to me. ahaha. Have a grand birthday...

15th. Chanelle. The most joyful and always and forever happy girl alive!! She is so fun to talk to and her joyfulness and poserish-ness makes everyone laugh. That's a good thing. I love you...

26th. Tommy. One day after Christmas. ahaha.. And he's already counting the days. Anyway, a super friend and a great brother. Say he was my brother. lol..

30th. Shabeta. (middle) I love hanging out with her. It means funness and don't need to tell me poserish pictures. Weee!! High five poser. If you didn't know, I happen to be a grand poser. So is she.

If you didn't happen to know, she came to our house yesterday. We had great fun entertaining ourselves. Who said girls couldn't entertain themselves? ahem. ahem.

Happy Birthday ya all wonder-filled people.

Isaac Thong is back. (the whole world is rejoicing, at least Malaysia :P)

talk that sounds like nonsense

How irritating it is when you don't understand Chinese!! (okay, okay. You guys will probably correct me and say, "Chinese is not a language, it's a race.") Who cares. After all, I can't tell the difference of each dialect.

Yea, I wish I could understand it...
--
oh yea. And today is my daddy's birthday. Thanks so much for loving me all the 13 years of my life and guiding me through each step. I luv you bunches daddy.

Yea, the crazy things we do together. =D If you ever thought he's serious, you've got that wrong!! Who has a dad that builds a raft and brings it out into the middle of a lake -with his best friend- and then tips it over and swims back to shore? That example is mild compared to some things he does. I learned my craziness from him. hehehe...

Sunday, December 2, 2007

woot!

I did it!! The picture is in!!

Weeee!

Thanks to Soph, blogger expert.

So glad it's in. Thanks so much...

ever fallen asleep?

I was just browsing through my archives. You should seriously check out my very oldest post. I can't believe I wrote like that when I was a few months younger. I mean, geesh!! It sounds so weird. I can't believe people liked reading my blog then...

Yea, I'll have to admit, my writing has improved. That's the benefit of a blog. Your writing improves. That's why the people that don't have a blog should get one. I am yet still convincing Roberts and Isaac to get a blog. One day I shall have success!! woot..

The point is has anyone gotten tired of reading my blog? man, I do.

Some bloggers just have the gifts of writing. Take Grace Goh and Soph for example. I luv reading their blogs. It's easy to read and fun. One hint is pictures!

I'm out of hints to make you guys interesting in reading my blog...

Random pic of the day:

Guess how old I was then?? haha. It good to find an old pic or two sometimes.

Random question for Blogger experts. After you change your template to a template from Blogskins how do you add a picture to the sidebar? I don't know d' code. Help someone!!

oh lalalala
